Trump Shot at Rally
Former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear Saturday evening while speaking onstage at his rally in Butler.
The shots rang out at 6:10 p.m. as Trump was addressing a crowd of supporters. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The suspect, identified as Michael Sandford, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
"This was a clear assassination attempt," said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. "The president is lucky to be alive."
Trump's injuries are not life-threatening, but he is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.
